Prevent employees getting shocks due to static electricity – Industrial Process
What is static electricity?
Static electricity is an electrical charge that doesn't move. Static electricity is generated when two or more surfaces come into contact with one another and are separated again. Static electricity can cause problems in many production processes where non-conductive materials such as plastic, paper, wood and textile are used. A problem that often occurs when static electricity is generated, is that employees are getting shocks. This page contains information with solutions to prevent or eliminate employees getting shocks during the production process.
What causes static electricity to shock you and is static electricity dangerous?

What other effects does static electricity have on the machines and employees?
Besides employees getting shocks during the production process, static charge can cause other problems. For example, static charge can cause materials to stuck to machine parts or to each other, can attract dust and can cause a spark which can cause a fire or even an explosion. Simco-Ion offers a suitable solution for these and more problems:
The end customer has problems with the material
Static causes a fire or an explosion
Want to eliminate industrial static charge and know how to discharge static electricity?
Simco-Ion anti-static bars generate an electrical field which causes the air molecules in the vicinity of the bar to break down into positive and negative ions. Because opposite charges attract, any charged material passing near the bar will attract ions until the charge on the material is neutralized. The materials will no longer be attracted to each other or to the machine parts. Attraction of dust, explosion or fire hazards and electrical shocks to personnel caused by static discharge are avoided. Simco-Ion offers a very wide range of antistatic bars in shockless and non-shockless versions: Performax Easy, Performax IQ Easy, Performax IQ Easy Ex, Performax Easy Ex, ThunderION 2.0, MEB, MEJ, 1/2"SS, MaxION, P-Sh-N and the P-Sh-N-Ex.
